Super Kwizin on the way!

The Super Kitchen is on the way!

July will be the month when the Super Kitchen will be installed and prepared for use. Hopestart has partnered with Stop Hunger Now to receive nutritious food for the first year, however we are in need of proper storage for the food and electricity to operate the kitchen as well as preserve other foods such as our chicken meat. God has provided so much through so many thus far, we are confident these needs will be met.

Our prayers were answered when we received the funding to purchase the two pressure kettle cookers and were blessed with additional gifts for the kitchen which include a stove, prep table, and a sink. See the pictures below of the Super Kitchen.

Thank you to the Rock Church Men's Ministry for constructing the building to the Super Kitchen and providing a work training program to local Haitians. Everyone is blessed by generosity and we are very thankful for every person and organization that has helped make this possible.

If you would like to be part of this revolution in Jérémie, Haiti consider donating to one of the many projects that are helping to change this nation.

Since its opening in 2013, the Hopestart Children’s Home in Jeremie, Haiti has resided in a 3-bedroom rented house with two bathrooms having one shower stall and one toilet each.  In 2014, we purchased a property in Jeremie, and have been raising funds to build more spacious facilities and to expand the capacity of this orphanage.

We are delighted to announce that on April 28, the Hopestart Children’s Home was relocated to the brand-new facilities in one housing unit with two large dorm rooms (one for boys and one for girls) and two bathrooms with two shower stalls and three toilets each.  The construction of a second housing unit of the same size is expected to be completed by the end of June, at which time boys and girls will live in their own separate houses.  At that time, we will also have the capacity to expand the number of orphans and abandoned children we care for from our current 24 to 32.  We have plenty of room to continue building as God makes available the funds to do that, so that a greater number of needy children can find a safe and loving place to grow and develop their God-given abilities, and become productive contributors to the betterment of their own communities.

We are very grateful for the donations that have made this expansion possible.  But with expansion comes increase in operating costs.  Please consider a contribution to this project that aims at giving not the usual handout, but a hand up to break the cycle of oppressive poverty that has plagued Haiti for so long.  THANK YOU!
